I had requested to update my address and make a couple vehicle removal changes at the end of July 2020 and was due a couple credits due to the vehicle removal. One of Christina's team members said that a couple checks would be issued. After a couple months of not receiving one of the checks AND receiving insurance cards for the two removed vehicles, I reached out to Christina and her team.
The team member said she would cancel the check and issue another one and to expect the check in 4-6 weeks. After 6 weeks [in November], I had not received the check and reached back out. I was told that the check was sent to the old address and that they would cancel that check and reissue another that same day and to allow 2-3 weeks for delivery this time. Frustrated at this point, I asked that they expedite the check or deposit the money directly into my bank account as they auto collect every month and got nothing.
Another 2-3 weeks passed and I reached out again, this time I got Christina instead of her team member. Christina said that it would take them 2-3 weeks from the request to get the old check cancelled and a new one issue...this was completely the opposite from what I was told in email from her team member. Still tho, Christina argued. She said in one email that I should have made sure to update State Farm of my new address...which I did back in July (it was one of the reasons I initially reached out). She then threw in that because of the holiday and COVID, there would be a delay. Our state is currently under shelter in place orders, so it wouldn't take much for her team to have called their billing department to get this sorted out. When I responded back that this was unacceptable and that I expected the check or money deposited back into my account by 12/7, she went completely silent. She has yet to return emails or call me (as I requested in multiple emails).
After not hearing back from Christina and still not receiving my refund, I contacted their corporate office. I spent an hour on the phone with them and got the original check cancelled and a new one issues within minutes of getting underwriting/billing on the phone. (I had also filed a complaint with them so that took some of the hour call.) Nonetheless, if Christina would have picked up the phone and got billing/underwriting to take care of it promptly and correctly, I would not be here today. Horrible customer experience and horrible customer service from Christina. I have since dropped my policy with State Farm/Christina Zeng.
I will also add that last November I was rear-ended (I was 100% stopped at a red light) by a drive with another insurance. I had reported the accident right away, but the other driver did not. When I reached out to State Farm to start repairs, they let me know that because the other driver had not filed a claim, I would have to pay the $500 deductible first and then they would go after the other insurance or I could call the other insurance and file a claim on behalf of the other driver. Having AAA previously, I had never had to advocate repairs for my vehicle nor deal with another driver's insurance company they way that I had to in this case. That is why we have insurance, so that there is someone going to bat for us.
Do yourself a favor and look at another agent, or a whole different insurance company all together!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I am sorry the refund process that cause the frustration. Unfortunately, State Farm Agent cannot access to the billing and refund process.
We already escalated to State Farm corporation and your case is assigned to Customer Care Center.

They are amazing! I've spoke to different members at their office and they are all very knowledgeable! They walked me through patiently whenever I have questions, and were prompt at responding to my requests (even over emails). I am so pleased with their services (especially during such uncertain times). Keep up your good work!

My husband and I have been with State Farm, and this office, for many years...over 30 I believe. We continue to be pleased with the agents' performances over the years and the rates on our policies are competitive...enough to keep us from going with USAA. Thanks!

christina is one of the best insurance agent i have encountered, rather than up-sell me policies that are more costly she explained to me why it is not necessary and go with one that is best for my needs. i'd recommend her for anyone looking for a policy; have a chat and see what she can do for you.
