We are longest running brewpub in Fremont. Our fish and chips and beer battered onion rings use our in-house brew to give it the perfect flavor. We use American Kobe beef for our burgers and allow you to order your food just the way you like it. Our beers are made to be full of flavor yet very balanced. We create new flavors throughout the year (look for Witch's Brew in the fall) and keep guest taps rotating so that it's not just the same old same old. Visit Jack's Brewing Company and enjoy Great Food, Great Friends, and Great Fun!

We truly enjoyed having dinner here watching the sf giants
We were impressed with the chili chicken and steak
Not to mention the burger yum!!!
And the best part was a good Chardonnay for $8 a glass !! We will be back!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 33955129Jan 28, 2024
Great place to watch any sporting events- more lowkey compared to other bar and grill places so it is easier to grab a table.
The food was larger than I thought so really a bang for your buck. My favorite item was the garlic fries: it was well seasoned and the shredded cheese was a nice touch. We absolutely ate everything on our plate! Super satisfied with the food and service.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Dec 17, 2023
I used to come here frequently and then I stopped coming and haven't been back in a while. Met up with some friends to catch some football. Place was packed but we were seated fairly quickly. We ordered some beers and a monster platter ( pictured* your choice of 4 appetizers) and some wings, everything came out super hot and was delicious. Definitely a loud place with football on and lots of cheers and boos!! Multiple people checked to make sure we had food and drinks and were taken care of. Really impressed can't wait to be back.
Items tried:
Buffalo wings
Carnitas Frachos (carne fries)
Mozzarella sticks
Quesadilla
Onion rings.
Beverages:
Cider
Amber ale
And boys of summer wheat.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Tom I.Fremont, CA042Apr 15, 2024
Jacks has disappointed us yet again. We've gone there several times and each time the visit was not good. We were there in the afternoon around 3pm and sat a the bar. Once we received our drinks and menus the staff forgot about us. There were only 1/2 dozen customers there at the time and the staff seemed to be more interested in what a car costs online via their phones versus the taking of our order. After 15-20 minutes we paid our drink tab and left for Chili's which was a much better experience. Strike three and we are outta there again and for the last time....

I'm back in Fremont and decided to give Jacks another go round. I really wanted to hit a brewery I hadn't been to but none were nearby. Plus I always like to give a place a second try if possible when I review them low. It struck me reviewing my original review that I have a bad habit of not proofreading well. I make no guarantees this one will be better.
Jacks hasn't changed at all in the 4 years since my last visit as far as I can tell. It still has that sports bar/locals vibe to it which I like. The decor has a very "Cheers West" kind of thing going. Yeah, I'm not sure exactly what that means either.
Jacks IPA was pretty mild but had consistent hop flavor.
Hardwood pale didn't really appeal to me. It had a bit of a flavor, likely from the hops which I couldn't place. It was one of the ones I liked on my last visit but wasn't a favorite this go round. Did the recipe change a little or did my palate? A little of both. No way to know.
Crazy Hazy was definitely hazy unlike a lot of "hazys" you run across these days. Funny thing about this one. On first taste I didn't care for it but on my second, after having a bite of the very good onion rings, I really liked it. Don't let those wine snobs act like it's only wines that work with particular foods.
Gridiron Amber was good. I didn't like it much last time around and wish I could do a side by side comparison. It's been four years, things progress. SWPFTD would happily drink this one.
I ordered a peppered pastrami sandwich and onion rings and enjoyed both. They do have really good onion rings. Along with that I ordered a pint of the Gridiron amber.
Overall I really liked Jacks. Again, the staff was excellent and the food was good. If I were local I could see myself hanging out here. The beers were good, better than my first visit I would say. The beers aren't at the top of my list but they are enjoyable and the staff, decor, and food make up for any shortfall.

Jim thanks for giving us an update! My wife and I bought the place in 2021 so some of the changes you note are from a new brewer trying to replicate old recipes with some updates to have a broader appeal. We are trying new things (sours, and a Belgian Strong Dark) to change up the beer list as well as bringing in other local beers to share.
That Belgian Strong Dark, The Witch’s Brew, will be coming back right around Halloween in case you are looking to try something from the newer recipes.
We are glad you enjoyed the food!Apr 12, 2019Previous reviewJacks Brewing Company, JBC from here on out, is in a nice shopping area and looks like it might be housed in an old Denny's or Carrows building. Lots of tables with a sports bar meets Denny's vibe to it.
They had nine of their beers on tap and I ordered up an abbreviated taster of all of them. Unfortunately when the lady behind the bar plunked then down I became apparent that they don't have any kind of tasting board, etc. I had to resort to trying to remember which was which. Come on, a piece of paper even with the beer names we could check off in order of appearance would help. Work with an old guy here...
Boys Of Summer Wheat wasn't bad but nothing to highly recommend itself. It had the expected placid but a little bite at the end.
The Mango wheat had a slight mango aroma and funny enough I didn't find the mango forward on the taste, but it was a tasty beer. Not stunning but tasty.
Hardwood pale ale had decent hop aroma and flavor. Not overpowering bitterness. I liked this one.
The IPA with no name. No really, it has no name besides IPA! I'd put this in the mid range as far as IPA's go for the rush to bitterness that has been ongoing for the last few years. Pretty good overall.
A DIPA came next with that bitter-sweet aroma on the nose. The hop flavor lingered nicely but it really wasn't overly bitter.
The Amber ale didn't appeal to me. It had a harshness on the back of my tongue that just didn't work for me. SWPFTD would not approve!
The brown ale was actually pretty nice at the front but the flavor just died at the end. Like me leaving my wife unsatisfied this kinda did the same for me...
The Porter had a nice smokey and roasty aroma to it and followed it up pretty well. This was one of the better beers here.
Last up was a session IPA. Very little flavor, and really no mouthfeel, this made it seem like I was drinking colored water. It just tasted diluted. Not good.
While I was tasting beers I ordered up some onion rings, which were quite good. They were the nice beer battered variety. Takes me back to Houma, LA and the best onion rings I think I have ever had.
Ok, overall JBC seems to identify more as a sports bar kinda place than a brewery. The atmosphere was good, the service was excellent, the beers were just ok. If I were reviewing based on the first two it would be four stars, but I primarily review beer and I can't say this impressed me. Your mileage may vary!

Food is good. Ambiance is sports bar feel. Can't go wrong with live bands/ performance!

Friendly neighborhood sports bar with many craft beers brewed on site. Decor is dated with glaring lights above the tables by the windows. Outdoor patio seems relaxing. Staff is friendly but a bit inattentive. Disappointing fish and chips. Fries warm and soggy, ugh. Fish looked and tasted very similar to frozen fish sticks. Small portions for the price. First time I've tasted coleslaw that was, well, tasteless. Best to order something else. We stumbled in on a Tuesday evening open mic featuring local musicians. The sound was deafening. Electric guitars, electric guitars with loopers, loopers with backing track, jamming with themselves. Much like ex-rockers reinventing their 70's Marshall half stack garage band with... looper/backing track. No stage, no lighting and no sound insulation. In spite of the above, might return to sample other menu items on a more relaxing, non-ear splitting night based on other food reviews.

Jacks brew has been located in the Hub area of Fremont for quite some time. Just recently, we've visited here about 3 times the last two weeks. The place is very big and spacious. It is known to get really packed during the NBA warrior games and NFL niner games, (and possibly just possibly Raiser games lol). Nonetheless, for a pub the food is pretty spot on here. To date, I've tried the loaded quesadilla with steak, wings, and a bacon cheese burger.
This place hands down has the best wings in Fremont and possibly the Tri-City area. Something about how they cook the wings here are different. They crisp up the outside to the max and the wings are perfectly moist in the inside. They make their own Buffalo sauce which is outstanding. The loaded steak quesadilla was also a hit. Sometime, you goto places and the steak is sometimes bland. But not here. It packed a punch of flavor and was delicious. For being a pun atmosphere the food is spot on. I hear the fish and chips are up to par also. I'll be trying that next.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Steven N.Fremont, CA15121Dec 22, 2023
Just had lunch at Jacks in Fremont. Beer was great, the service was excellent, but the South Western Wrap sucked big time. The chicken was non-existent. The coleslaw not on the side, but in the wrap and watery with no taste except for slight taste of vinegar. Cheese, never saw or tasted it. Entire wrap was blah and should have sent back, it was that bad. Don't usually write reviews, but just had to point out that this nothing I would recommend.

A really chill place in town! The ladies working at the bar are extremely nice and friendly. They went above and beyond to make sure my sister and I had a good time. They even asked us if we had a preference for any specific channel to watch on tv at the bar. We just tried beer flights. Would love to get food next time!
